Ford Leads Industry with Most IIHS Top Safety Picks
Ford's Top Safety Picks -- earned by the Edge, Taurus, Taurus X, Mercury Sable and Lincoln MKX, along with the Volvo S80, C70 and XC90 -- were the most Ford Motor Company ever earned in a single year, and the most ever issued by IIHS to a single automaker in one year. These eight vehicles helped drive IIHS' overall number of Top Safety Picks up to 34 for the 2008 model year, compared with 13 issued industry-wide for the 2007 model year.
